Report Scope
The global market for respiratory protection is segmented into following categories:
Product Type:
Product type segment is categorised into Air-purifying Respirators and Supplied Air Respirators. Further Air-purifying Respirators is sub-divided into Powered air-purifying respirators and Non-powered air-purifying respirators.
Air-purifying respirator (APR) are used against particulates, gases and vapours to protect the wearer by using a filter to purify the air being breathed in.
Non-powered – uses the wearer's breathing to draw air through the filter.
Powered – uses a fan to draw air through the filter.
Supplied Air Respirators protect the wearer by supplying clean breathing air from an independent source such as an air compressor or compressed air cylinder.
End use Industry:
End use industry segment is categorised into six sub-segments: Construction, Manufacturing, Mining, Healthcare, Utilities and Transportation & Storage.
Construction: In this industry the Respiratory protection equipments are used to avoid myriad of hazards, including flying nails, wood splinters, metal fragments or finer particles such as dust and grit created by cement mixing, sawing or chipping.
Manufacturing: In this arena, the equipments are used in chemical, food and machine manufacturing. They protect from Hazardous chemicals that pose a splash hazard, Highly reactive or explosive materials, dry chemicals and small amounts of hazardous liquid chemicals and Furnaces, molten metal or glass, heat, sparks and glare.
Mining: The most commonly needed respiratory protection in mining operations is dust protection. Coal dust as well as most other ambient dusts can be effectively filtered using an inexpensive quarter facepiece dust mask.
Healthcare: Because of the nature of their work, healthcare workers (HCWs) may be exposed to various infectious respiratory illnesses where the route of exposure is airborne and may include inhalation of droplets. Healthcare workers who routinely come in contact with hazardous chemicals and other airborne materials often lack training and awareness of necessary procedures to protect themselves from exposures to these materials.
Utilities: This segment cover firefighting, power & energy and water industry. Workers have to wear respiratory protection to shield from harmful light chemicals, dust that can inhale easily during working in the above sectors.
Transportation & Storage: This segment uses protective equipment in warehousing and logistics where hazardous materials are stored and transported.
The market size and estimations are provided in terms of volume (Million Units) and revenue ($ Millions) considering 2019 as base year and market forecast will be given from 2020 to 2025.
