Wellesley, Mass., July 1, 2014 –BCC Research reveals in its new report, RECYCLING MARKETS IN CHINA, the Chinese global market for recycled products was recorded at $102.8 billion in 2013. This is expected to grow to nearly $156 billion in 2018 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.7%.
China’s economy has been experiencing sustainable, rapid development in the past few years. Waste plastic has become an important source of plastic raw materials in China. In the next five years, ferrous metals will be the largest segment of the recycling market in China, and recycled automobiles will be the fastest-growing segment.
In volume terms, China’s recycled tires market grew by 13% in 2013. About 13% of the recycled tires were used to produce retreaded tires, and 87% were used for reclaimed rubber. Growth in the tire recycling segment is forecast to reach a CAGR of 10.8%.
